Hello, it’s lovely to meet you
I’ve been travelling since I was a child, first with my family and later through school trips. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to visit 30+ countries, and each journey has sparked my curiosity and love for new cultures. My live travel map is on Wanderlog, and the last few years of adventures are below.
I started Roabouttown in 2023 as a personal travel guide to help you make the most of your free time, discover new destinations, and see the world through my eyes. This blog is always based on my own experiences—from careful research for planning a weekend, like my guide to the Coronation, to first-hand experiences of cities, museums, restaurants, and adventures, including the mistakes I’ve made along the way. My approach is candid, honest and passionate, without being rude. I think the internet is full of overly sanitised travel content or posts that unfairly trash places, so Roabouttown focuses on real experiences and genuine enthusiasm.
I only recommend what I truly believe is worth doing. My affiliate links reflect this too. If an activity, tour or restaurant was a waste of time, I won’t suggest it, even if I could earn a small commission. If I haven’t personally tried something, I’ll make it clear and share only experiences with strong reviews.
Roabouttown is all about adventure and insider tips. Whether it’s exploring my adopted city of London or venturing wherever Skyscanner, work, a special offer or HomeExchange takes me, I love combining the well-known attractions with hidden gems. Expect quirky museums, isolated beaches, upcoming food halls, and unusual experiences. I’d like to say it’s pure adventure, but honestly, I often avoid crowds. Tourist hotspots can be more stressful than thrilling for me.
I’m based in South West London, work in Communications, and travel as often as my budget and holiday allowance allow. Through Roabouttown, I hope to share my love of exploration, practical travel tips, and quirky discoveries, so you can make the most of every trip and experience the world with a fresh perspective.
