About me

Hello, it’s lovely to meet you

I’m Roisin or Ro to many friends and family. I started Roaboutown in 2023 as a personal guide to helping you see the world and make the most of your free time. It will always be based on my own experiences – whether it is from my research to plan a weekend (like with my guide to the Coronation) or my first-hand experience of a place. The blog will also always be candid, honest but never rude. I think there is a lot of overly sanitised content on the internet these days, so I will try and ensure Roabouttown always has the raw passion and emotion of how I experience a place. This principle goes to my affiliate links too – I will only link to things I have done and think are worth doing again. If it was a waste of time, I won’t recommend it for you to do, even if I could earn a few pennies from doing so.

Roabouttown will bring you my love of adventure and the tips and tricks I have learned – both in my adopted city of London and wherever Skyscanner, work, a special offer or HomeExchange takes me. I love combining some of the well-trodden routes with those less traveled – a quirkier museum, an isolated beach, an upcoming food hall, or wherever really. I would love to say this is because of my sense of adventure, but I really struggle in crowds so a tourist hot spot is often the best way to ruin a holiday with a panic attack for me.

I’ve been fortunate to have traveled since I was a child – either with my family or through school, this ignited a sense of curiosity within me and a love of experiencing new cultures. I now travel as often as my budget and holiday allowance permit.

I am based in South West London and work in Communications.
